Meet Our Staff

College Director
Michael Teglas – Has been with the college since it was established in February of 1990.  Michael has dedicated the majority of his professional career to helping people improve their lives by offering high quality education, coaching and job placement assistance.  His 23 years experience, serving thousands of greater Kingston residents in training/educational program design and delivery makes him a valuable asset to the college.

Admissions – Financial Aid Student Services
Dorota Mirek – Dorota joined the college back in April of 2003.  Her extensive business management background coupled with her sincere approach to seeing our students succeed has been a welcome addition over the past 9 years.  Her many years experience in helping prospective students make the best choice for their future, has lead to positive outcomes for our graduates. Her vast knowledge about our programs, the job opportunities in the community and financing options has assisted many people in making an informed decision.

Tara Teeling – Since joining the college In May of 2010, Tara has shown great initiative in staying current with her course knowledge and offering excellent support to our Students. Her previous experience in a Business Management setting, along with her pleasant demeanour, has proven to be a successful combination. Tara is registered as a Instructor/Facilitator with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and has achieved and maintained her Facilitator status through the corporate office of Academy of Learning Career College.
Administrative Support Cecil Parks – Cec handles all reception and administrative support responsibilities at the college. His pleasant smile is what greets you when you first enter the college. His positive attitude toward making people comfortable when visiting the college for the first time and throughout their stay with us, has proven to be a great combination. As a graduate of Academy of Learning college, Cec is very familiar with our programs and what they can do to assist our students is realizing their employment goals.
I.T. Support Robert Richer - Rob has a positive attitude toward his I.T. responsibilities.  His sincere interest in seeing his students succeed is evident in all he does for them on a day to day basis.  His strong technical knowledge and recent hands on experience, is proving to be a positive combination in the field of I.T. infrastructure and student support.  His management and customer service skills also add to his ability to succeed in this fast paced environment.
Academic Upgrading Racheal Hall, nee Hickey - Racheal is our Ontario Certified Teacher.  Her compassion and dedication toward her student’s success is very strong. Racheal received her Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University in 2009 and she has had experience in both the private and public education systems having supported a diverse group of students in and around the greater Kingston area.  Racheal heads up our Academic Upgrading department and her enthusiasm is contagious.
