Academy of Learning welcomed guest speaker Carey Bidtnes, Human Resources & Labour Market Specialist, from KEDCO.
Carey spoke to the students about some of the FREE services that KEDCO offers including business advice.
One of their specialties, through the Business department, is helping Entrepreneurs starting up their own business. Local businesses can access government grants, incentive programs and even interest free loans if you know where to look.
KEDCO offers Professional Development, Workshops & Consultations for various business needs. They will also go to local business and provide workshops on a topic chosen by the employer.
Their main objective is supporting the Kingston Region and helping people find jobs and start businesses. “More dollars helps ensure stronger businesses committed to the city, which makes Kingston a better place to live, work and do business.”
Check out their website at www.kingstoncanada.com for information on our community, the Labour Market and Kingston’s Business sector.
